Bank’s refusal to give my money bank of an unauthorised debit

I have never been so disappointed in a bank as much as I am with Capitec. Subsequent to my complaint lodged a few weeks ago, the bank still refuses to give me back my funds. I spoke to Microsoft, who confirmed with me that the bank is able to reverse the debit on their side and that a three way call can be arranged in order to sort this matter out but my so called bank does not want to do this. I am so upset that this escalated to this point but I am not backing down. A ********** transaction occurred on my account for a Microsoft subscription that I did not authorise, Microsoft is saying that Capitec is able to reverse those funds but they don’t want to because my details were used. Irregardless of that fact, I did not sign up for the subscription and it is ridiculously insane that you refuse to reverse the funds even when Microsoft has stated that you could. What kind of message are you sending to your clients if you can’t even protect them from ****s let alone help them get their funds back. Your handling of this issue is alarming and I pity any client of yours that has to go through the same ordeal that I’m going through right now.

Good day Miss Booi

I refer to your post on Hello Peter and regret to inform you that our Carddisputes department has assisted with a chargeback process to reverse the funds. However the merchant debited the funds again and we can therefore not process another chargeback to reverse the funds from the merchant.

Since the merchant represented with your details, indicating that they had no intention to refund you, we can regrettably not assist in reversing the funds from the merchant as the chargeback cycle ended when we accepted the valid representment.

Since the funds are still with Microsoft, the merchant in this case, are they perhaps able to arrange a refund to your account via their finance department as they should have these facilities available?

Kind regards
