Bad Support

My mother, a 67-year-old woman, was the victim of a pick-pocketing incident at Wonderboom Makro. As soon as she realized her purse was missing, she immediately contacted me, and we both attempted to reach Capitec's support line to cancel her ****** card. Despite our persistent efforts for nearly 30 minutes, we were unable to connect with a representative. In the meantime, the *****, inexplicably, managed to determine her PIN and withdraw all the funds from her account. Capitec's dismissive response was that the money was lost and there was nothing they could do.

This situation raises several concerns:

Digital Literacy Burden: Placing the responsibility on a 67-year-old, technologically inexperienced individual to navigate a complex app during a stressful crisis is unreasonable and unfair. Inefficient Card Cancellation: Capitec should prioritize a more efficient card cancellation process, such as implementing automated prompts to quickly disable ****** cards over the phone. Insufficient ***** Prevention: The lengthy wait times for ***** support are unacceptable. Capitec should invest in expanding its call center team to ensure timely assistance and minimize financial loss for victims. It's disheartening to see such a lack of empathy and effective support from a financial institution.
