Bad service for foreigners

I recently received and international payment that was withheld from my account. I called the forex department and they told me I should update my passport details at the closest branch , close my current account and have a new account open as my identity has changed. I went to the Sunninghill branch where the assistant was not to sure if this was the right procedure as they did not know how the forex payment will be transferred to the new account. I left without been assisted regardless if mentioning that I desperately needed the money to pay fees before deadline. I asked if there were any exceptions that could be made. The answer was no because fired had closed for the weekend.

I called forex Monday morning and they confirmed the process.

I went back to Sunninghill branch where they have refused to open a new account for me because they consider my visa to be a new visa.

My visa clearly states that I can work and reside in South Africa therefore I do not see how this is a problem .

I asked if they can have my funds released and I have my account closed as they do not want to have me as a client on my visa. They refused to do so and said they would have my foreign payment returned instead.

I am highly dissapointed with the up and down I have had to do and the different reports I have received from everyone that assisted.

All of this would not have been a problem had u received an email or SMS from capitec to update my details. I have received foreign payments with no issue before and use my capitec account daily.

The lack of alternatives or any firm of assistance to help me with my desperate need is upsetting.

If I miss my deadline u miss a semester of school. Is this really worth it ?
