Abused Client

I have had my pension funds held ransom by Capitec since last week. I have been working for Virgin Active since March 2017 till October 2018.

When I left my pension funds were deposited into my Capitec account. Capitec has not allowed me to withdraw my funds since they were released by my employers.

I have been to the branch and got into arguments with a lady who worked there who called me names in front of clients and other employees. I’ve called and sent in proof and affidavits and everything just in an attempt to receive money that I worked for and Capitec is refusing to budge.

I eventually was able to obtain Complaints Management number, and Kim has been excellent in trying to help me with my matter. But it’s totally unacceptable. It has inconvenienced my life incalculably and everyday I have been spending money trying to call to get answers at least 3 times a day. I’m not rich that I can afford to not worry about my money.

I have been extremely patient and have tried at all times to show respect and understanding to most of the people I have interacted with at Capitec.

I have gone to the police station to get an affidavat. I’ve called in and at least 3 individuals have given me Capitec Forensics Departments number and they have consistently refused to assist me. I’ve had my card taken away from me and been told to never return to Capitec. I’ve been told I am a ********* and I have been accused of ***** by Capitec employees. I’ve had arguments with the staff at the branch and the lady told me “she is done with me” and waved me away. This paticular incident happened on my birthday. I’ve had to sit at the branch and call FNB myself because this lady told me she cannot help me. I’ve gone out of my way to do what I have been asked by both Capitec call Centre agents and branch staff. When I have been asked to provide proof I have done so. When I was asked to bring an affidavit I have done so. When I was asked the improbable, which is to call FNB, while sitting at Capitec I have done so. I’ve sent emails, I’ve even suggested that they call my employers to verify what I have noted.

All of this happened because my wife sells hair online. When she had difficulties with her bank account she requested that she use my bank account to assist her clients. I agreed, since legally she was my wife, to assist her. When one of her clients had an issue with LATE DELIVERY, she reported my account saying I had committed *****. Mind you, MY ACCOUNT was put on hold. I have explained this multiple times to Capitec;

I DO NOT SELL HAIR. MY WIFE SELLS HAIR. THE ENTIRE DISPUTE WAS BETWEEN THEM. I WAS WORKING FULL TIME AS A VIRGIN ACTIVE EMPLOYEE FOR 2 YEARS. MY WIFE ONLY USED MY BANK ACCOUNT BETWEEN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER 2018. SHE DID NOT DO SO PRIOR OR AFTERWARDS.

I filed my taxes this year. I worked very very hard to earn my income. For people to treat me like Capitec has, it’s has been a NIGHTMARE.

I have gone to the police station to state this. I’ve sent this to the branch. I have at least 2 different incident numbers. I would be willing to provide any information required as I have done nothing wrong. I have put this information on an email to Capitec.

It’s fine guys, all of you have decided I am a ********. I give up on trying to convince Capitec otherwise.

I worked 2 years at Virgin Active. Call them to Verify. They paid my pension money into my account. All I require are my funds. Except for Kim at Complaints Management and Justin Isaacs, since this issue started, not a single person has responded to me.

I have 3 children and other responsibilities on my hands. I need my funds. I worked extremely diligently and hard for my money.

Disgruntled, mistreated and accused father of 3.
