A shoddy infrastructure worthy of serious ******** investigation.

Honestly one would look at these scathing reviews dating back years and think that the people of Mercantile Bank would have sophisticated by now but I am sad to report that things are as bad as they have ever been. We are a small, Black woman owned business whose operations have come to a complete screeching halt due to our banks' incompetence. Our cards don't work anymore, our emails have gone unanswered for over ten days now. No matter who you speak to the process of resolving the actual issue you have goes nowhere, all that happens is that you end up being on the phone for countless hours, in a thousand meetings with service person after service person who cannot help you for some reason. Like, we are in the middle of a pandemic, small businesses are suffering and banks should not feel comfortable taking banking fees from small businesses and then promptly ignoring absolutely every request that said business logs.

I want nothing more than to close our account, move our money elsewhere and pretend that this never happened, but looking at the reviews on this page, I honestly think that this bank should be held responsible for the pain and suffering it has caused its clients. If you do not know how to do business banking just say so and leave small businesses to seek more reliable institutions, but do not take the money from struggling businesses whilst offering absolutely nothing in return. I really think the ombudsman should be notified about this because this is starting to read like a syndicate.

My company has a huge order to fulfill on Monday and we have not been able to get money out of our bank for TEN DAYS how do you explain to clients that you can't fulfill orders because your bank is not talking to you? I have never been more disappointed and that is saying a lot considering how skeptical I am of banks to begin with. The bar was set so low, Mercantile, how did you manage to lower it?
