A shocker of a Bank!
I went on unpaid maternity leave and had to live on UIF Maternity benefits for 4 months and i so i made arrangements with Capitec to Contribute a portion of my instalment throughout until i get back to work then i will resume with the normal instalment. They agreed but said every month they will deduct everything and i will have to go to the branch to have the money reversed minus the arranged amount....so it went like that every month and it was exhausting going to the branch. The first month i returned back to work they deducted my whole salary claiming its to cover the arrears...after a long telephonic fight they reversed the amount and the next month my account was handed over to MBD. I did not get any notification or communication to that effect.
I took the matter the credit ombud and they claim they mailed a letter in March to my address to notify me that they were handing over the account...mind you that is the time that my arrangement was still in place and i have bank statements to prove it. My communication with capitec is via email but they supposedly sent a letter for some reason and didnt call or mail to tell me they sent a letter. To make matters worse they claim to the Credit Ombud that they don't have any recordings or any arrangements made with me...they never got hold of me on the phone throughout.
if that is the case then why was i going to your bank every month to have my money reversed? Why would you keep a certain amount every month and reverse the rest if it wasn't because of an agreement?
Another agent says i can only listen to the recordings if they can retrieve them but they cant give the Credit ombud the recordings.
I will not leave it this way, i will get a lawyer involved.
Capitec you are unbelievable!!!!
