A Power of Attorney at Capitec means nothing, go to another bank
For anybody who is considering Capitec as an option to get a Power of Attorney from the bank to do your parent(s) banking on their behalf, do yourself a favor and don't go with Capitec. I have a Power of Attorney with Absa and Capitec, and started moving all her debit orders to Capitec, and what a mistake that was, I still need to take her into the bank to add a new stop order - that is traumatic for her, also for myself. Capitec is still in the dark ages. I'm so sorry I moved all the debit orders from Absa as I never once had a problem with them acting on her behalf, they need her finger print for everything you can think of. That is NOT a Power of Attorney, do they actually know what a Power of Attorney is!?! I also have a General Power of Attorney drawn up by a lawyer Every person with Capitec should be concerned with that as they clearly don't trust their existing clients!
