50% loan repayment

i took out a loan with capitec bank, and i was paying it off well until i got retrenched, the contract stated that if i die or get retrenchedthe will pay my remaining balance, so i went to the bank to send the letter of retrenchment up until today I'm in arrears of which i don't know how to pay because I'm still unemployed. i think this bank is taking advantage of my situation.
