WORST SERVICE EVER
<p>I app**** beginning of January 2017. I never got an email, phone call or any response confirming the recieval of my application. After a month I phoned requesting feedback, where I was told only 2 more weeks. I asked them to please keep me updated. Another month went by without any response, every time I phone, they just say "we will phone you back with feedback" NOTHING> Today I phoned again where they told me it will take up to another 6 months, Telling us there is no cables, but my neighbor has fibre optics??? TERRRRRIBLE. Where I complained, her only response was, "so can we cancle your application". </p>
Firstly, neither of your next door neighbours have fibre. You, madam, are a ****.
As has been explained to you on many occasions, the complex you live in does not have any ducts / telecoms pipes under the ground. Every home in that complex we provide fibre to, requires extensive civil work. In other words, we have to dig a trench to each house.
To reach the house you are renting, we have to dig from the nearest point where we have infrastructure. That is 8 houses away. The trench needs to be dug by humans with picks and spades. There is not enough space between the wall and the electric fence to use a trenching machine.
You may not be aware of this, but Cape Town is experiencing a severe drought. The ground that the contractors need to dig in is as hard as a rock. Like so many other projects, we have to wait for some soaking rain to soften the ground to enable the picks to penetrate more than one or two centimeters ate a time.
Once the trench is dug, we need to install ducts, chop a hole in the back wall of your garden, trench through you garden, lifting any paving we may need to, then drill into your home and run conduit to where you require the service delivered. Again, this is not a trivial undertaking.
The lead time for most FTTH new builds is around six months.
All of this is immaterial as we cannot request permission from the HOA to dig as you have not provided us with written permission from your landlord for us to break through the back wall, cut up the back yard and then drill into the house.
