" ... individual attention ... " hahahaha !!! what a JOKE !!!

This crowd states the following on their own GLORIFIED website : "Campbell Attorneys are a lively “Service Attentive” firm which delivers individual attention to all of our clients. ... "

WHAT a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT my dealings with them turned out to be !!!

I went to see JAN VAN DER WESTHUIZEN on 17 October 2017 regarding a medical negligence claim. I sat with JAN for more than an hour explaining my COMPLETE situation and forwarded all my evidence to him via e-mail. On 19 October 2017 I received a letter from MANTWA PHASHE informing me that they are now acting upon my "instructions" and will refer my case to a medical expert as well as their advocate in order to assess my claim.

I thought, WOW that was extremely professional of them to act so quickly ! Little did I know what type of ROUGH road lies ahead ...

JAN told me that they need to obtain confirmation from their advocate in order to file my claim with the relevant authorities and this will take approximately ONE MONTH. I have patiently waited for JAN or MANTWA to get back to me sometime either in November or December 2017.

However, no such luck. By 8 January 2018 (almost 3 months later) I have still not had any feedback from ANYONE at CAMPBELL ATTORNEY'S. I then sent and e-mail to JAN asking him for an update. I received a notification that my e-mail has been read but NO REPLY.

On 15 January 2018 I called their offices and left a message (+2786 ********** ) with MANTWA for JAN to call me back. "He is not available."

On 22 January 2018, after ENDLESS calls and emails, did I eventually manage to speak to JAN personally. He ADMITTED to receiving my e-mails AND reading them, but have not had as little as ONE MINUTE to spare in order to reply. He then PROMISED to get back to me within a day or two as he is still waiting for the advocate's decision.

Needless to say, that NEVER happened !

For more than a MONTH afterwards (upto 20 February 2018), I called on an almost DAILY basis and sent NUMEROUS e-mails . JAN was NEVER available. MANTWA was no help at all. Her reply when questioned about the unanswered messages and e-mails was that she has passed them on to JAN and has to wait for his instructions. NO FEEDBACK whatsoever.

After this episode, I can only guess, MANTWA recognised my number when I called and started to UBRUPTLY cut my calls or just let the phone ring until the line cuts off by itself.

By this time - more than 4 (FOUR) MONTHS have passed since my first meeting with JAN VAN DER WESTHUIZEN.

On 20 February 2018, I again sent an e-mail to JAN DEMANDING him to REPLY to my e-mails and messages.

That next day I tried calling JAN again. AGAIN the call was cut.

I then asked my husband to call them as they do not know his number. IMMEDIATELY he got through and was transferred to JAN. My husband explained to JAN that I am getting anxious as I only have "so much time" in which to pursue my case. JAN told my husband that he's STILL WAITING for the ADVOCATE'S reply but he will follow up with him and get back to me.

All of a sudden, the next day I received the following e-mail ...

Dear Sir RE: MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE CLAIM

We refer to the above matter.

Please note that we have discussed this matter with counsel at length. We believe that prima tacie you may have a claim against Dr. Vadia. However, it is not a matter that we are prepared to take on a contingency fee basis. You are welcome to approach somebody else, alternatively to provide us with a deposit in the amount of R 50,000, where after we will proceed.

If we do not receive the required deposit within seven days we will proceed to close our file. You are welcome to phone writer hereof to discuss the matter. Yours faithfully J 0 VAN DER WESTHUIZEN CAMPBELL ATTORNEYS **********

I am DISGUSTED beyond words !!! JAN VAN DER WESTHUIZEN is a QUALIFIED and CERTIFIED ATTORNEY and has been in this business for MANY YEARS - or so we were told. He had ALL my PHOTO'S, RECORDED TELEPHONE CALLS, MEETINGS and other COMMUNICATION at his DIRECT disposal in order to make an assessment whether it would be feasible to take on my case or not.

BUT it has taken him 4 (FOUR) MONTHS to come up with such a SNOTTY letter and ONLY AFTER I DEMANDED him to give me a reply.

JAN VAN DER WESTHUIZEN must be COMPLETELY out of his mind if he thinks I will pay R50,000.00 for making use of THEIR service when he does not even provide ANY kind of feedback NOR reply to ANY messages (written or telephonically). By the time JAN VAN DER WESTHUIZEN decides to call a person back, your case has ALREADY become PRESCRIBED and you have lost YET ANOTHER R50,000.00 whilst chasing after the wind !!!

I WILL NEVER MAKE USE OF CAMPBELL ATTORNEY'S SERVICES AND NOR WILL I EVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE - NOT EVEN A PERSON WITH WHOM I HAVE AN AXE TO GRIND !!!
