Would not take card payment for a bottle of water.

I have already emailed the below to Caltex but they haven’t provided any reasonable response and no response was forthcoming from the specific service station retailer.

These big companies think they can treat their customers with disrespect and it is not tolerable.

This is the incident ...

I’m at the caltex on Bunyan street, benoni at 08:29am on Saturday 9 Dec 2017 with my son. We went into the shop to buy water and i was not allowed to pay with my card because they don’t accept card payments “less than R20”.

This is completely unacceptable in a world that is fast becoming cashless.

I will never use Caltex. Ever. Disgusting behavior is not acceptable and I find this rejection completely unfounded.

The costs on accepting a card payment are way less than the cost of losing a customer.
