Strange tipping issue at Caltex Old Paarl Road

I enjoy the service normally at this Caltex petrol station in Old Paarl Road, Brackenfell. But this evening was not a pleasure and actually left me frustrated and feeling I do not wish to return to this garage. I have enjoyed the coffee shop many times and the service has always been outstanding from the team at the fuel pumps, I was even took the time to complement the one employee I think his name was Peter directly with the manager on duty. This evening I pulled up gave my amount for fuel to be put in check my tyres please gave the pressure, the gentleman started washing my windows and when his colleague walked past he asked him to check my tyres. He did so and everything was fine, it came to paying I said card machine please as my bank gives me points for using Caltex. I told the gentleman you can put R10 tip on for yourself, so they look at me in shock oh no they say they can’t do that anymore. So I say well I don’t have cash. Then the one looks at the other and he said okay you can put a cool drink on, and he tells the other one to go check with the cashiers, I wait in the car for few min and the two come out with a 1litre bottle of coke, so I say wow guys I said R10 tip so go get a 500ml I am not paying R25 rands for a coke, I think it is a cheek that you guys bring out the 1litre, the one says to the other one “I told you” and he said just leave it. So I said to him where is the manager, he and there is no manager on at night. I said to him they are making it awkward for me to put int fuel there. He said to me it is not them it is management. I said it is nonsense I mean really even if someone put on a tip without a client noticing, how can the system not be managed properly. I said to him previously I had a petrol attendant tell me there was trouble with the tips and that I had to sign the slip to prove he. Didn’t ***** the tip added on and that I thought was understandable and I would work with that but really not everyone has cash so it is just the easy way and modern way to add the tip on with card payments. I would hope the Caltex Old Paarl road takes a re look at this because it is uncomfortable for the client and I can understand for the attendant that’s his little extra and we all need something extra now days. I have not had this problem with Caltex in Bellville where I work. I would actually like feedback on this that I can know what is the rule and accordingly decided then if I will return to the garage in future.
