Over charging for diesel at Caltex
I went to top up my car with diesel 50ppm at Caltex Queenswood pretoria. They are selling diesel at R24.49 per liter. The current price according to the AA's website is R22.60. How are they charging almost R2 more per liter for diesel but their price of 93 & 95 petrol is exactly according to the AA's website? Am I missing something?

The Department of Energy (DME) determines certain “zones” throughout the country and the distribution and retail price of Petrol (regulated by the DME) and Diesel (not regulated) is determined by these zones. The zones closer to the coast provides a better fuel price than the zones further from the coast mainly due to the transport cost involved to get product to those relevant fuel stations.
The diesel price announcement is just a guideline, and the Retailer may charge whatever price they are comfortable with.
