Loss of business due to unprofessional conduct

<p>On Saturday 10 July 14:45 I went to the Caltex garage in Kibler Park (that I frequented countless times over the years as I stay up the road) to put in R50 petrol and buy an energy drink before my appointment. Everything came to a total of R67! I tried entering my pin twice but I had forgotten my pin number as my pin had changed. I explained to them that I had to rush to an appointment and I would be back between 15:30 and 16:00 latest after my appointment with my pin. I was told that I would need to leave something behind that I could collect upon my return. I offered to leave my driver's license or my wallet and I was told I must leave my phone in case I didn't return and they needed to sell it.</p> <p> </p> <p>I explained to them that I needed my phone for business but they insisted and stated that I would get my phone back as soon as I paid. I informed my client that I was meeting at 15:00 of the situation and that I was on my way, cool. I leave my phone and head to the appointment, finish the appointment head home, get my pin and straight to the garage. I arrive there and I'm told the office has been locked and the person with the keys has just left) they call him and he says he's in Brakpan now he's not coming back, I speak to him over the phone and he is nothing but rude not asking what the arrangement was or what happened but that it's my fault it's none of his business he's not coming back I should come back in the morning between 06:00 and 06:30.</p> <p> </p> <p>Appointments for the rest of the day, *****ed!</p> <p> </p> <p>Fast forward Sunday morning 06:50, he's not here he's in Alrode. 07:30 I'm given my phone, I approach the gentleman in charge asking if he felt the situation was handled properly -instant aggression from him-, I'm then told serious ******* about he has 3 businesses to run my phone is not his effin business, words are exchanged, and he tells me he'll have people come to remove me, I tell him he can call whoever he wants to call I'm not intimidated by him but he knows he's wrong for causing me to lose business! I turn to leave and he responds by telling me to watch myself and my attitude because he knows the whole of Alexandra (I'm black and this gentleman is white) and he has my license plate number (all the while sitting in an office behind burglar bars).</p> <p> </p> <p>Yes I did lose business, I was treated and spoken to like a dog and threatened , I will NEVER return to another Caltex garage, I will ensure that everyone both close to me and close to anyone that I know has reservations about frequenting another Caltex garage.
