Incompetant staff and manager

On 20th February 2018 i went to caltex garage at 261 victoria road, saltriver to get fuel and put air in my left rear tyre.After completing my request for fuel I asked the attendant if he could please pump my tyre to 2.5 bars.I attempted to do it myself however the air was escaping through the inlet to the pump.the attendant then attempted and seemed to be getting it right however when i walked away I heard my tyre burst.I asked the attendant how many bars he pumped the tyre and he could not answer me.I requested to speak to his manager and a guy called patrick turner came out.I advised him of what just happened and he told me he needs to check if the pump works on his car.he then tested it on his car and admitted that the air is escaping and it might not give a proper reading however he needs to check the calibration of the pump.i asked him what i should do now as my car has run flat tyres on and i dont have a spare wheel.he asked me how far i can drive with the burst tyre and i told him probably 30kms.the manager then told me to go as he needs to speak to his insurance and he will get back to me.he called me the and told me he coulnt find fault with the pump after admitting to me that he could not get a proper reading on his own car after the attendant burst my tyre.he then told me to go to maitland to a tyre place called palm tyres so they can give him a tyre report.how i was supposed to get my tyre to maitland without a car thats driving was baffeling however i borrowed someones car and took the tyre for inspection.palm tyres took a look at the tyre and told me because it was fixed before for a puncture it may have caused the tyre to burst.They also said that the tyre was run down on the side and that could have caused it to burst however I told them its run down because I had to drive it after the attendant burst my wheel.So in my opinion palm tyres was just looking for an excuse so that caltex did not have to pay for any damages.Obviouslyi was not happy with that reasoning as how could that be the cause if i never had a problem with the tyre after the repair.Another thing that didnt make sense was y would it burst on the walls if the repair was done near the centre of the tyre.i called the manager patrick turner who told me that he cant put a claim in due to the report he had from palm tyres but he will speak to his director and will call me back again.So back i go with nothing sorted still driving up and down with no results and still not knowing where i stand and being inconvenienced without a car.after waiting for the manager to call me which he did not, i eventually called him only to hear that according to them they cant take responsibilty for what happened.I asked patrick if they have a body which governs them and he said no.I then went on to ask if they have a complaints process in place which he also said no to.So in other words caltex and their staff can just do what they want to consumers and get away with it. this was truely the poorest service i have ever received at any service station.i went to the bridge fitment centre in athlone afterward who advised me that it looked like the tyre was over inflated and burst not because of the puncture repair that was done.I now had to buy a new tyre out of my own pocket due to the incompetence of caltex staff and management.
