Double Charge on Petrol Card
I purchased fuel via my petrol card. The debit took place by way of sms notification on my phone. The point of sale device lost signal and produced an error slip. I then left my contact details in case the merchant could not receive their payment from my bank. The following morning I receive a phone call from the manager claiming that I stole petrol and its theft. The next thing I get a phone call from the Police whom I explained to that the problem we had was a lost signal with the card while the debit had taken place from my bank.

During the day I contact my bank to give me a clearing code for the merchant to manually use with their bankers to receive the money sitting in their expense account. The merchant refused and kept on calling the whole day with threat by the police. The merchant was aggressive. That evening I went back to the petrol station to make payment.

I am still out of pocket as the filling station was not interested to resolve the problem even though the error happened in their part. I would like for the manager Derrick of Caltex Garage to be dealt with by the organization involved as that is not my usual experience from the other Caltex Petrol stations.
