Caltex WOOOOOOO SHAAAMMMEEEEE :(

I am Kolekile from Port Elizabeth. On the 10th August 05:40 am on my way to work to do my 06:00 - 13:30 shift in Coega. I got a Tyre bust just on the N2 , as about to exit in Motherwell off ramp in to R335. In that heavy rain that morning the safest place I thought of that was safe to fix the car was the Caltex Truck Inn opposite Coega Village. Due to the severity of what was wrong with the Car I was forced to park the car at the service station go to work and seek for help. I could only get help around 11:00am same day. as I arrived to fix and take the car, it was clamped in one tyre and I was required by the station management to pay R450 for leaving the car more than 2 Hours.

It is not the first time luckily I am leaving my car at this same service station and the last time I was told if I wish to leave it overnight I must pay R150 to avoid the R450 fine with the possibility of being clamped so to me I understood this fines to be implemented to motorist leaving their cars over night. That night I payed the R150 and fetched the car the next morning. This time around I was not even away a full day, only about 4 Hours. I fully understand and respect any business having its own parking rules but at this Caltex nothing on their warning boards speaks to the clamping of car standing for more than 2 Hour, it specifically uses the words SHORT TERM parking. Only when I asked what is short term parking then the 2 Hours was mentioned.

As a customer at this station I feel Management did care of the actual reasons of me leaving my car there. I viewed it as leaving my car at a safest place just to go seek for more help not knowing 5 Hours later I was actually getting into more problems.
