Terrible Service by Calgro M3 developers.
I would like to make people aware of the trauma that Calgro M3 put me and m family through, here is my story. I purchased a flat in Fluerhof that was developed by Calgro M3. Everything went well, my bond was approved and the property go finished; the only thing left was for me to move in. My wife an I decided to furnish the flat, installed new tiles and built-in cabinets, just to make the small house feel like a home. I sold my car so that we may afford those effects.
After we had completed everything, about a week before we were to move in, we realized that the sewage was blocked and that it was no starting to backflow into our flat. We alerted the building manager, she called one of her plumbers who said that he's on the way. We waited for him but never pitched, we even left our key with security guard so that should they arrive after we had left, they would still be able to come to our aid. All this happened on the easter week.
On the Saturday of the Easter weekend, when we were to move in, the security guard informed us that it will not be possible for us to move into the flat as sewage was coming out of our flat, and it could be seen from outside. We got the shock of our lives when we opened the door and realized that the blockage had become worse, the plumber never fixed it the day we called. Can you imagine other people's fesses floating in your house?
We called the call centre and asked for help, and after a long argument on who was to pay for the services of the plumber, one was called and came to access the situation. Because it was already late, they informed us that the will only fix the sewage tomorrow. We had to go ask people to store our property for the night at least and try to find a place we could sleep. I cannot put in words how sad our big day was.
The following week, when all were back from Easter weekend, we visited Calgro M3 office in Bryanston and a lady called Wendy had our story and decided to go investigate. Upon arrival they found how bad the situation was that it was difficult for them to even get in. Our beautiful cabinets and tiles had been in sewage water for over a week and they were starting to rot. Wendy promised to reimburse us, but when she got to the office, she changed her story and put the blame on us.
We tried to show them that we were not at fault as we had not yet stayed there. Furthermore, 3 more residents who are also in the lower ground as us, experienced the same problem of sewage back flowing into the properties. How can the fault be ours?
We proceeded to lay our complaints with various relevant bodies, NHBRC being one of them. Various documents including sewage and building plans were requested from Calgro M3, by us and representatives from NHBRC but the developer refused to hand them over. That action proved to us that some was seriously amiss with those flats, and that shortcuts were made by the developer for them to cut costs.
To cut a long story short, Calgo M3 is one company that has taken us for fools in that since the sale has been completed, they do not want to take responsibility. Calgro M3 doesnt want to replace our damaged furniture as they say the cost will be too high. It makes me wonder if the costs will not be high for us too.
For a big company which is listed, I stand to be corrected, which has a working capital of millions, to refuse to incur a little expense to keep its clients happy is just absurd if you ask me. I hope this message can be spread and potential customer to take their hard earned money to reputable developers who can practise what their vision statement claims.
I write to you still without a place of my own as I had already given my notice to vacate to my previous landlord, and still going to and from with Calgro M3 regarding who should incur the costs of the damaged caused by the sewer.
