Dishonest Herm**** CTM sells damaged products

About two weeks ago I bought a tap from CTM Herm**** which, I have to mention, is 57km from where I live. Two days ago the plumber wanted to install it but the metal pipes were not the correct ones and did not fit. We hadnt been sure about the tap when we bought it so we decided to exchange it for a nicer one. I called CTM Somerset West to check if we could come fix the issue there and the sales person said yes. My sister and mother were going to Somerset West so they took it. Once there, the saleman agreed to exchange the pipes but when my sister asked if they could exchange the tap for another, he refused and pointed out that it was damaged. Indeed it is damaged however, not by myself or the plumber. A plyer or similar had been used on the outlet of the tap and there were small but visible scratches on it. Those marks had not been made by either myself or the plumber. We opened the box together but didnt check faults. In March pre-lockdown we had bouht all new for all new bathrooms, from them and all was fine. At Herm**** I was 'helped' by two sales persons - an elderly lady and a young man who immediately went on the offensive. They imp**** that I was responsible saying that they didnt sell used things and that there is never anything wrong with their products. When I mentioned Somerset West and the wrong pipes, the man said that that could happen. What stands out most of the whole argument, is the woman saying that it is their word against mine which in effect, means that CTM called me a ****. I had spoken to the woman two days ago as well and I believe they were 'ready' for my arrival so they decided difficult customer: we won't be helpful. I too was in customer service when I was younger and was witness many times over of how a customer can be sabotaged. This is CTM: the most unfriendly staff. EVER. CTM sold me a product which had been returned by another customer - why the wrong pipes - which in effect makes them *****. Here's my word against you: I will warn everyone I know agaiinst CTM and especially CTM Herm****. You are dishonest and deserve no good reviews and absolutely now patronage at all. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
