CTM Southgate customer abusing the stuff member and customers verbally

A deep disappointment regarding a ****** incident we witnessed yesterday at CTM Southgate, and the management clearly took the side of the bully, leaving the staff member and us traumatized by the situation.

The behavior was directed toward the staff member assisting us with our purchase of plumbing materials. We found the treatment she received to be completely unacceptable.

Her name is Gugulethu Ndaba, a very friendly staff member who went out of her way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted in the store, even though some items were out of stock. A customer harshly called her to leave us and help him to look for what he wanted while she was busy scanning the material that we wanted to buy. We immediately told her she cannot leave us to help another, but he insisted she must could not leave us, but he insisted she must assist him, threatening to take his business elsewhere if she did not comply. We firmly rejected his demand, stating that we were also customers and deserved her attention.

His tone was condescending and racially insensitive, both toward her because she is Black and toward us as well. It was concerning to witness this behavior, especially since no one from the staff intervened to address the situation. The customer then left the store, only to return and escalate the confrontation with Gugulethu and us.

I trust that you will look into this matter and take the necessary steps to address it. We will be following this situation closely, and if appropriate measures are not taken to support Gugulethu, we will escalate this matter through all available social media channels. We also have video footage of the incident that clearly shows how it was handled by management.
