CTM Shower exploding

<p>This morning 15 March 2017 @ 2.30am, we were awaken by the most terrifying noise and a loud bang , only to walk into our spare bathroom and find that the shower door had exploded in thousands of tiny pieces. Glass everywhere!!! The CrystalTech Chrome corner entry Shower door was purchased from CTM in September 2014. I have the same model and style installed at our home in Durban and have had no issues for the past 11 years and the same installed in both our bathrooms in the current home. I have never experienced something like this but we are now afraid to use the main shower in fear that this will also explode.</p> <p> </p> <p>In the previous complaints I see that CTM refuted the 1 because the showers only have a 3 year warranty and the customer’s shower was 8 years old – mine is within the 3 year period. In another case the timeframe was within the warranty period but was refuted because approved installer was not used. Similar to me, we were never informed that we were purchasing a hazard and that the risk of injury, shock and horror is reduced if CTM installs, however again I believe that I am covered as we used a registered builder for all the house renovations.</p> <p> </p> <p>I trusted that CTM will honour their warranty and have the shower replaced but now i am being told that there is no warranty !!!!!!!</p> <p> </p> <p>let's see what the final outcome is after the inspection </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
