Import Tax Calculations with no help

I ordered from Temu, not my first parcel. It is my understanding that the percentage for import tax is calculated on the purchase price, and I am fine with that. But Buffalo seems to make their own rules and laws. A purchase of R742 is taxed by this company at R495.85. That is more than 75% who make the rules about the taxes we pay, as it seems every other parcel is hit with high taxes. You cannot seem to contact this company other than a chatbot. Temu should consider using another company.
