Bad service

My package says delivered but it wasn't, and now I have to wait. My delivery note has a signature on it that says my name, which I never sign like that. When I approached the company, they said they could see that the delivery was logged at 8pm and that that in itself was not correct, but then they said I must wait and see if it is delivered today. If not delivered today, I must phone back tomorrow to tell them so they can escalate the problem. Why in the world must I wait for it to be sorted out? Why can the driver not be contacted and asked what happened, and then give me a report back? Why must I wait, and then I have to phone back to find out, instead of the company contacting me as the customer? Not only was my package not delivered, but someone *****ulently signed my name.
