Rental Agent ****

My property went up for rent via OLX. I was contacted by Budget Rentals insisting that they could help me find tenants and was informed that they only charge 12% of the first months rent and deposit. After saying no to this they dropped the commission to 8%. We agreed to this and they started the process to find 2 tenants to rent the property. Tenants were found and the lease agreements was signed. I became concerned about the deposit and rent being deposited into Budget Rentals account after she had wanted to borrow money from me. On questioning and clarifying the commission I was then told the commission is 8% of the lease agreement period. I asked why this wasn't stipulated upfront before finding clients as I would not have agreed to this as we could not afford to work via a rental agent. Needless to say the situation went from bad to worse, I paid her the 8% commission, tenants administration fees and extra for her help. The first tenant suspected something wrong and didn't pay Budget Rentals all of the monies. Unfortunately the second tenant paid into her account. When asked for the money, she says it takes 48 hours to clear, no proof of payment. Parties ****** of R13000.....
