Never rent a car with Budget! **** of ZAR 5000!!

Dear all, never ever rent a car with Buget/Avis company!!!!!! I came to visit South Africa and rented a car with Buget website in France. The price was quite cheap for 16 days (around ZAR 3000). BUT: When returning the car, the person in charge of checking the car removed the wheel rim from one of the tyre and showed us a ridiculous damage that I'm sure already existed and that none of the previous personnel checked. He told me you didn't take the tyre cover? He was right I didn't. But the damage was so insignificant and undetectable that no proof could allow to make me responsible for it. When taking the car, the check-up was done but the employee didn't check that part of the vehicle. I requested to speak to the manager of the agency and explained her the situation, she orally committed we won't be charged for that. However, 10 days after a surprise awaited me on my account, as I discover the amount for the rental was almost double the price of the location. I didn't receive any invoice, neither previous information and I was naive to trust the manager. I then requested an invoice which showed that ZAR 5000 were charged for the tyre damage. I'm really keen to know if the tyre is made out of gold to cost that price and beside this big price, the method is not honnest at all. I speak English but do not understand the nuances when it comes to contracts, and furthermore when renting on the website (in my language) you cannot chose the insurance, you can only do it once at the agency. I've warned the Budget's employee that ff my money is not refunded within the 5 days, I'll inform all the toursit's guides and websites that they sould never rent a car with your company. The methods used by this company are similar to ******' ones and I hope my witnessing will be useful to avoid this happens again. All the best, Nicolas
