Harassment by ***********s!

Several months ago, I received notification from Brooks and Luyt that my Truworths account was overdue and that legal action was being taken against me. I was quite surprised, as this account has been paid up for some time. I went into a Truworths branch and they assured me that my account was, in fact, a few Rand in credit! I explained the notification that I had received, and they checked the name of the account holder in question - showing that it was not my name at all! They assured me they would rectify this with Brooks and Luyt.

Well, regularly each month I get these notices on my cellphone, advising me that I am in arrears and that legal action is pending. Each time, I phone Brooks & Luyt (sounds like a call centre) and speak to one of the agents - who regularly promise me that the issue will be resolved. I have kept records of these calls and the names of the agents that I spoke to.

I phoned again today, asking if it was possible to speak to a manager - or some person with slightly more clout than a call centre agent, in order that the matter can be put to bed for once and for all. No. Not possible. They are not available. All in a meeting.

Quite honestly, I am beyond "gatvol". This is now bordering on harassment. I actually feel like getting my own lawyer to start proceedings against THEM. What has clearly happened is that an error has crept in when recording this account holder's cellphone number - possibly just transposing numbers or something. Whatever, they should surely have the person's full details on hand at Truworths.

I have never dealt with such a collection of ***********s!!
