Bunch of clowns.

After being handed over for collections I received an email from these clowns.

The email is completely unprofessional, no formatting, no letterhead or company logo, just a huge block of text stating that they represent such and such bank and to contact them via this phone number, or email them back.

This alerted my inner **** Detector for numerous reasons : 1: A quick google search of the phone number provided gives no results. The phone number on their website is not the same as the one in the email. 2: I rep**** to their email, and received a notification - "Thank you for your e-mail, we acknowledge receipt thereof and will contact you as soon as possible." The next I heard from them is another threatening email stating that they are going to issue a summons. 3: I phoned the number provided, and asked why they have not responded to my email, the guy said "We cant receive email"... (What? YOU EMAILED ME!) 4: After phoning in and giving the reference number quoted in the email they still want my ID number.

Seems like a classic phishing ****! Send a threatening email and then demand sensitive information from me.

I eventually contacted the bank and they confirmed that Brooks and Luyt were the attorneys handling the collection, but come on! Why make it so difficult? I contacted you guys via email to settle this, you ignored that and sent me more threatening emails. This just makes me think that you don't actually want people to settle!
