Worst Brokers

I was in a car accident on 5 September 2025 and filed a claim with ABSA insurance.

The brokers (Bro-link) advised the assessor will have a decision on the car within 5days, either to repair or to write off the car.

The assessor took 10days to confirm the car will be repaired, so 5 days longer than promised.

What is interesting is that according to the assessor the car was on the verge of being s****ped with damages totalling R60 000.00. However more damages could be identified when the car is stripped.

It is shocking that they can make a decision like this (repair / s****) without stripping the car and doing a proper assessment. Surely, they are required to inspect the whole car top to bottom, strip everything to ensure all damages are identified but more importantly that they can assure the car is made SAFE for future use!

Now I was told this repair can take about 20days to be completed, no issues there.

Tuesday 7 October 2025, I received a call from the panel beaters (XNLT), confirming my car should be done by Friday 10 October 2025.

Thursday, 6 October 2025, the day before I was to get my car back, they informed me more damage was observed.

Now between XNLT and the assessor this took until Monday 13 October 2025 to get the full list.

As per feedback from the broker (Bro-Link) the additional damage was extensive. What that means is anyone’s guess.

What was shared was the following: Bumper Air guides, Condenser, RADIATOR, L/S Bumper bracket, Front stiffener, Spot Light cover chrome, Cooler clamps, Cooler switch.

This is shocking. How can this much damage be observed 1 day prior to me getting my car back?

As per Bro-Link I am not allowed to have a report of the assessor’s inspection / findings now how am I guaranteed that everything was looked at and fixed? Surely this is against regulation, it is my car and I have a right to know what was looked at, what the condition of my car is and if it is SAFE for future use.

I need to trust that they have considered all damages and my safety when it is evident that they did not even bother to look at the RADIATOR when the car was in a front-end collision, that surely would have been the first component to look at!?

Now more than a month later we are back at square one with parts needing to be sourced, priced and approved!!!

And no timeline as to when one day if ever I will receive my car back in a proper condition!?

DONT trust these people, poor service, shocking practices and they dont care about your time or safety!!!
