Bully Tactics

Heavy traffic Paarden Eiland..stationary and I get hit hard from behind. Other driver has no insurance, no drivers license and admits liability.
I phoned my own insurance who advised me to rather use them and their legal department would recoup monies from the other party. ALL GOOD AND WELL.

Until..... the repair quote exceeded 60% of the value of my own vehicle and I was advised to s**** the car.

2003 BMW 320d in excellent condition. I've had it since just about new.

Okay, so quote revised downwards and the panelbeaters agreed to source original 2nd hand parts. I'm happy with this. They also give a warranty on their work.

This morning - no......... Brolink is once again putting me through hoops. The vehicle has to get stripped to assess any "hidden damage" EXCUSE ME BROLINK - WHAT PART OF THE PANELBEATERS WARRANTY DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? They undertook that there would be no extra costs for your account.

I am NOT going to write this car off - I know it, I trust it, it goes beautifully. The other party will be paying for the repairs.
It seems to me that this company wants to make life as tough as they can for their customers, so they can profit from auctioning off the vehicle.

NOT Impressed! I use this car to be able to earn my salary. I can't afford a new car, and I won't drive a tin can. My monthly premiums are good enough but hey - how about you play your part also?

Sirs The settlement process has been forced on me. The documents that you await are my vehicles registration papers among others which I fail to see the reason for, as the vehicle has been insured with you since 2008. I was phoned and told this is how it will be and I have one of 2 options, neither of which I consider fair, nor equitable. But - being the insurance giant that you are and not considering the individual circumstances, I have little recourse. My broker is simply regurgitating that which they are told to. Had you actually spoken to the assessor, and had he related the facts to you then writing the vehicle off would not have been an option. It's these actions of yours that make me realise that I am just another number and the insurance business does NOT have the best interests of the insured at heart.
