20 Days and NO outcome for a motor accident - ***4*001

Dear Readers,

My review / experience is to advise you that if you require a fast settlement insurance for home, business and motor vehicles please do not contact Brolink / Santam.

On the 21st May 2017, I was involved in a motor vehicle collision. Day 23 and I have not received settlement or approval for the repairs. However, I have been told on 4 occasions thus far that we are finalising and up until current date (12.06.2017) there is no finalisation or settlement. The assessors changed numerous of times I was told this was due to availability. An investigator was sent to assess the claim and question myself.

I was told that due to the time of the claim this process was normal. I have called several other brokers and insurance company’s they all agree with the 2cnd assessor or investigator process however they strongly Disagree with the time line. Insurance company’s settle a claim within 48hrs if an investigation is required it takes 120Hrs which is one business week.

My car is at the Panel Beaters since the accident, so it is evident that the inconvenience app**** on their client is of no value. I have used these 23 days thus far to research and read up on insurance policies and I urge all holders to study your policy before signing.

There is no were in my policy that stipulates what time I can drive my car and what time I can’t, neither does it state where I can go or were not to go, however if I am crossing the border I should advise my broker. The reason for this LONG investigation is due to the time I have the accident (00h30).

It makes one wonder if it is a loop hole finding session to benefit the insurer and not the client.

I will further update you WHEN I receive the outcome, hopefully soon.

Regards

Malcolm Moses

Today is Day 24 since the accident and it is not finalised there is no approval sent to the panel beater.

IDRS / Royal Union is my Broker, Brolink is handling the claim, Santam is validating. leave alone the assessors / investigators that changed.

Good day

The assessor provided authorisation to the repairer via email. Unbeknown to him the email address has changed which resulted in the authorisation send by the assessor not reaching the repairer. The authorisation instruction to proceed with the repairs was send again to an alternative email address, and we confirm that the repairer also made contact with you to discuss the arrangements going forward to attend to the repairs.

Kind regards,

Brolink Claims Department

Hi Readers,

After much delay and investigation, SANTAM has approved the repairs, HOWEVER they have sent me a letter stating that my policy will be terminated due to high los ratio. I have claimed for my geyser bursting, due theircontractors poor workmanship it burst again and they came out to repair. Now i claimed for my car and i am not a higher risk candiate. This is not on. If my car was a rite off the value is R450k now my claim is R99k, Should my premium amount to the value of the goods that i am insureing before i claim ?

SANTAM you should waver your decision as this is not an ethical act against your client, this is merely a vigelant move for my review which was a fact.

Good day

The insurer made a business decision to cancel your policy, due to adverse claims. This was communicated to you via email by the insurer and we suggest that you seek alternative cover elsewhere.

Kind regards,
