Your suitcase is broken because you packed it wron
On arrival in JHB (flying in from Durban) on Monday 22nd July (flight BA 6224) my suitcase handle was broken and the suitcase frame bent. When I went to the baggage counter I was informed that in the small print (I don't know where) it states the BA will not be liable for damage to suitcase handles. When I pointed out that the frame on that side of the bag was damaged, I was informed that it was because of how I had packed it, so actually it is my fault the bag is broken and they cannot help!<br> The bag was NOT over-packed - it can expand further by opening another zip, but this was not even in use. The absolute refusal to assist in anyway was very frustrating. We have had a problem with BA luggage before (items ****** from a bag on an international flight), also with no action from their side despite promises of reimbur*****t.
