Very Rude Cabin Crew Member

This evening I took a British Airways flight BA6239 from OR Tambo to Port Elizabeth. As we were about to take off I was sending a quick text response for transport arrangements. One of your cabin crew members humiliated me & shouted \ EXCUSE ME DID YOU NOT HEAR THAT YOU MUST SWITCH OFF YOUR PHONE"?! She addressed me with such a bad attitude that people looked at me. I asked her why does she address me in that manner she looked at me without caring how I felt. I'm an executive club member & a loyal customer but I take exception to bad treatment. This is bad"

Hello Ahlume,

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback.

When the safety demonstration is conducted, we do announce that cellphones must be switched off for the duration of the flight. In this instance you breached a safety regulation and thus the Cabin Crew had to follow procedures as directed and documented by the Civil Aviation Authority.

I am sorry if you felt offended by our crew but safety and security as is our first and foremost priority. I am however disappointed to learn of the extreme manner the crew handled this situation and will discuss it with the crew managers to address with the staff.

I am very grateful you took the time and trouble to write to us as you have done, as it is in this way that we can ensure that the usually high standards we set for ourselves is maintained.

Yours Sincerely,
Nazley - CR
