Total lack of BA/Comair service
My daughter who has Downs Syndrome has travelled with BA/Comair from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth for the last eight years. She travels as an unaccompanied minor and has to complete the necessary medical forms. this has always worked well. BA/Comair insists we deal directly with them due to the Downs Syndrome matter. I normally send an email to the same person and it works well. Once before the person left Comair and I struggled to get a new contact name. I eventually succeeded and my daughter travelled. Now that I want to do a booking that person has left Comair. Since Tuesday last week I have tried the contact centre ***) but never get through because "they are experiencing high call volumes" The message recommends that I rather book online than to wait for an agent. When I try and book online it will not allow me to book my daughter unless I also book and adult ticket. Today I phoned at exactly 08h00 when they open and was told "we are experiencing high call volumes". I have also phoned head office ***) a few times but "we are experiencing high call volumes". I have tried various email address from their website with no success. I even have the name of a lady who works for their Coastal Sales division. I asked her to give me a contact name or email address, but she says she is sorry for me but cannot help me as she is not a ticketing agent. I have tried to phone a director (Piet van Hoven) or his secretary on the head office number, but "we are experiencing high call volumes". A travel agent tried to get through to BA/Comair for me but after 30 minutes gave up trying. I am a pensioner and cannot hold on for hours on my cellphone as the costs are prohibitive. To me this is utter madness with a industry that is desperately trying to recover.
