TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POOR COMMUNICATION
I initially made a booking with British airways for 2nd July from Cape Town to Johannesburg and on the 5th July from Johannesburg to Cape Town. Due to travel restrictions I then opted to the e-voucher thinking that by the time the President eases travel restrictions to Gauteng, British airways would be operating fully. NO WHERE in the website did it mention that British airways would start operating from 1st September at the time. If British airways clearly communicated with its passengers the week of the 28th June, then I would have opted for the cash refund instead.
I need to travel to Johannesburg next week on the 6th Aug and I am told by RUDE call centre consultants that I cannot convert my e-voucher to a cash refund and that I should sell my voucher instead. I want to remind British airways that it is not my fault that I was not given enough information that the e-Voucher can not be converted to be a cash refund and that British will start operating on the 1st of September. This is a problem from their side and I wish not be affected by it . Again I’m requesting a full cash refund for my return flight.
