Telephones not being answered for 2 days now: unable to cancel book

I have been calling British Airways number *** to cancel a booking but they are not picking up. Been calling for 2 days now, today I called all day, no answer. this is absolutely shocking and appalling. British Airways what must a person do to get through to you? I need to cancel my booking asap but you are making it very difficult to do so.
