System problems on BA has cost me over R10 000! and no one will help me

on the 8th Nov I had attempted doing a flight booking on the BA site and once I entered my credit card details, I received notification from my bank that the amount of R1600 had gone through, but the message on the site said 'sorry our systems are not responding, so we are unable to process your request and to try again later... this alarmed me as I received notification that the transaction had gone through so I called and was told that I should try again as the booking payment is definitely not reflecting on the BA system and that I will be refunded the amount in 72 hours. I then tried again about 45 min later and exactly the same thing occurred! so I called back and was told by the agent that BA was encountering a problem with the systems and this is why the errors occurred. He then proceeded to do the booking for me and tried to waive the booking fee but could not due to another system problem on his side. He then said that he would take my credit card details and get the ticketing dept to process the payment and waive the booking fee. So I gave him my details, only to receive an email from BA saying that they could not contact me and that I needed to contact BA regarding my booking. I called back on the 9th Nov and was told that my booking payment had been declined which was very strange as I did not receive any notification from my bank to this effect. I was put on hold for over 5 minutes when I asked to speak to a supervisor. I then had to end the call and called back to speak to a supervisor directly. I then asked him to please check on his side as I have not received any notifications that the credit card payment was not successful and to let me know how to pay the R1600 to confirm the booking. He then said that he will process the payment and that i should not to call back as I was given such a run round and that he would call me back. The booking payment of R1600 has since my call to him gone off my credit card and I have received an e-ticket only to find out that BA has also taken off an additional amount of R8249.69 without my permission!!!! i don't understand how this amount was calculated or taken off as my booking was an Avios miles booking that only required a cash payment of R1600. I have unsuccessfully been able to get anyone to assist me at BA. I've tried calling Comair only to be directed back to BA. So to date, R1600 x 2 is pending authorisation from the 08 Nov, R1600 and R8249.69 has been taken off my credit card on the 9th Nov with only R1600 being communicated to be as the deduction by BA (as indicated on the site and by the agents) and that leaves me out of pocket in excess of R10 000!!!! This has been my First booking as an executive club member of BA and i've been saving these Avios miles for a memorable holiday but just getting this booking done has been the most awful, customer unfriendly experience for me. A truly disappointed customer expecting just functional service from a supposedly world class airline. I just regret converting my Discovery miles to Avois and feel as though it would have been a far better experience had I converted my Discovery miles to Voyager miles...
