Shameful stalling tactics to avoid refunds from British Airways

There are a lot of negative reviews for BA here, and I'm not surprised. I had booked a flight from Durban to PE in March and in the lead-up, they were grounded. I emailed their customer support: "Dear team BA Your regular email updates are greatly appreciated. However, you don't mention your grounding, which is of course a major concern with our flights this week. Please advise what BA's response regarding finding alternatives for the flight should this not be resolved? We'll need to book alternatives soon."

No surprise, there was no reply, and without any indication that they would be commencing operations, I booked a replacement return flight for the day they commenced flying again. At no point did they communicate what was happening.

As with other peoples' accounts on HelloPeter, they offered a voucher, which became useless domestically when Comair folded.

As others have noted, attempts to contact them through their system of hoops are met with replies and redirects to other ways to contact them. Pure stalling, by design. They're just a bunch of ****s hiding behind a veneer of sophistication.

What a disgraceful company. Rest assured, the board of directors is totally responsible, since the fish rots from the head!

British Airways, I will avoid you like the plague for future international flights, and be sure to spread the word of your disrespect of your clientele.
