********** by British Airways
A travel agent in Namibia booked a flight for myself and my wife without using our ID numbers. Upon arrival, they would not accept our ID numbers and given that my wife had her ****en name on her ID, they demanded a marriage certificate as proof of her new surname. Absolutely nothing short of a marriage certificate would convince them, as if we carry this around. Not even our empty seats on the plane could convince them. THERE WAS NOT EVEN A BOARDING CALL FOR US. SALES TOLD THE BOARDING GATE WE WOULD NOT BE GETTING ON THE PLANE. THEY DID THIS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.

I gave in and resolved to buy my wife a new ticket and told them I'd have the marriage certificate by the time of our return. They then said that I have to buy a new return ticket because we can no longer use the current one at all. That is double the cost. I was also charged a rebooking fee for me not being able to make my flight. We missed the flight because sales could not resolve the situation.

In spite of empty seats on the plane and all the drama, I was told the tickets are non-refundable and could not get any money back. I am now set back thousands of rands because of British Airways' insanity and dishonesty.
