*******

I booked 2 return flights on british airways , flying from Oliver Tambo airport to Port Elizabeth airport through compu-ticket . A day before we were due to leave on the first stage of our journey , there was a crisis at work and i would not make the flight , but my partner could still fly . Rather than being a no-show , i telephoned computicket and told them of my predicament . With the cost of transferring the flight to another time ( which i could not afford )and not being able to be at our destination together ,i decided to cancel my ticket and request a refund , understanding that there would be a penalty for the cancellation on my refund , i understood that i would be the loser .

After sending my reasons for cancellation and requesting a refund, via e.mail , i was informed that it would take a while , i was prepared to wait , and expected to at least lose some of the original ticket price which was in the region of R3000.00 .

I was later informed that there was a cash refund due to me and it was a paltry R180.00 , i understand that there will be penalties as this was done a day before the outbound flight , but the return flight was 3 days later and the seat could have been resold .

I am bitterly disappointed with this ******* and will never deal through computicket and /or British airways again .

I hope this serves as a warning to all future fliers to make sure no unforseen circumstances befall you before a flight on British airways ,
