Refund Request for Return Flight

****o,

I booked a return flight from Cape Town, South Africa to Auckland, New Zealand. I departed Cape Town on 24 Jan 2016 and was due to return on 15 April 2016. However, sometime around mid March I requested a refund on the return flight as I decided to stay in New Zealand.

On 17 March 2016, I received a response from Valecia Maluleke (***) saying that the refund would be processed. I then explained that my credit card that I used to make the purchase of the flight tickets had been closed and requested that the refund be made to my banking account, and I supp**** the account details.

After countless back and forths, I was notified by Valecia that the refund was processed. I checked my account, and nothing was there. It turns out that the refund was processed to the credit card which I had explained had already been closed.

I was then asked for my banking details again - I had literally sent it to Valecia four times in our email conversations. Still, weeks later, the refund had not been made.

I then emailed Comair on their info email address and got in touch with Jane Safr (***) on 30 April who said she would ***ist, but I've heard nothing from her after her initial email.

On 6 May 2016, I got another email from Valecia asking if the credit card is in my name. I was absolutely furious. After telling Valecia countless times that the credit card was closed, it appeared that what I had said had fallen onto deaf ears repeatedly.

It has now been two months since I reuqested the refund, and there has been about 30 emails sent back and forth between myself, Valecia and Jane collectively. Yet I still do not have an answer as to when the refund will occur and there has been zero confirmation that it will be refunded to my banking account.

This customer service is utterly appalling.

Good Morning Lee Kindly note that all cash refunds can take between 6-8 weeks to be processed from the date of submission. As your credit card account had been closed, we had no means of refunding you, accept to a valid bank account in your name and these details were then requested. Should your credit card had been active, we would have been able to process the refund earlier. But unfortunately this posed a problem to us as we had no alternative means to process the refund. Your refund will be processed into the account details you provided before the 8 week period has lapsed. Kind Regards, Nazley- CR
