On the 7th of August I was about to board my flight at 18:55 from Cape Town international airport to London Heathrow whereby I had a 3 hour layover then board my flight to Gothenburg Sweden for Worlds Masters Athletics Championship but i was told i need to have a transit visa to enter London.

Okay No 1. As this is my first international flight I was unaware that i needed a Transit Visa as my layover was 3 hours in London.

No 2. When applying for my Visa i wasn't education that i needed a transit Visa by company VFS Global in Cape Town as they had all my documents including flight ticket because they couldn't of see my flight is going via London as I app**** months in advance

No 3. On the night of me boarding the plane they ask if i have any documents from VFS Global besides my Schengen visa (type C) i said no. as i was clueless to why he was asking me this question. He advised if i had a Schengen visa (type D) then i would of been able to board the plane because that would of been accepted as transit visa for London.my reply was i was unaware of all of this that his telling me, then one of the ladies got on the phone for about 20 minute with her manager seeing if she can get my on the plane but wasn't successful .

No 4. So Afterall of this i get why i couldn't board the plane as a lot of ******* immigrants escape into London. But clearly my documents showed that I'm a South African Masters Athlete who's going to represented SA at worlds Masters Championship in Gothenburg on the 13-25, August 2024 and will be returning to SA on the 27th August 2024 as per company information letter and invitation letter from Gothenburg who hosted the event .

No 5 I was told on the last minute that the only way i will be able to get on a plane that night if i buy myself another ticket with a different airline which go via Dubai or frankfurt as they dont require a transit visa. you can only imagine the stress i felt after hearing his news

Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture @***tonmckenzie please read my post Sir as this is happening to hundreds of people which is not being educated how it works when applying for visa, and then end up losing thousand of rands.

and British Airways can you please refund my money for my flight Reference W3GOUV as I'm waiting over 30 days already.

I called more than once and was told i was going to be refunding. my contact number ***
