My Experience With BA
I purchased a return flight from Johannesburg to Durban with British Airways for a family wedding.
When I got to the airport I saw that all BA flights had been delayed. The check in queues were long, chaotic and slow. When I did check in, I was informed that I was put on standby. How I can pay for a ticket and not be guaranteed a seat? I was told to go to the standby counter. It was chaotic there too. The standby counter managed to get me boarding passes for 3 other flights only to be denied boarding at the gate. After my third try, I had enough. Before I could cancel my flights to Durban I was asked if I would be like to be put on standby the Saturday morning. I declined because I did not want to go through this stress again.
I expect a 100% refund on the tickets and my parking which I paid for in advance. I purchased an outfit specifically for the wedding, which I will never get to wear. I lost out on memories with my family. The stress of being put on standby 3 times and run up and down the airport.
How do you compensate for that?
I trust that these matters above will be addressed as a matter of urgency and I look forward to hearing from you and what needs to be done.
