Late departure Jnb - Cpt 18.00 J class . NO INFO
As a gold ba member ***1 I was amazed when standing in the Q to check in I received a very late SMS saying flight was delayed by 2 hours . After being checked in by a surly check in counter staff member with no apology or info offered about the delay it was off to the lounge which was packed to capacity and was reminiscent of a bar on a Friday night except it was packed with extremely unhappy people . The 18.00 flight finally left at 22.30 . At no time did BA or any of their staff offer any form of explanation for the delay , offer any form of compensation , or show the slightest concern for their passengers who pay a premium for what can only be described as the most shocking service I have ever had the misfortune of expierancing in 20 years of flying . Can anyone of the BA management team explain to me why I should continue to use your services as it seems that you don't care in the slightest bit about your premium customers .
Thank you for your post. I am terribly sorry about the flight delay you experienced.
We try hard to keep to our published schedule as we understand the impact it has on our customers. Any delays to our schedule due to factors within our control are only imposed when absolutely necessary as it has a business impact on us as well.
Flight BA6431/07Aug'15 was delayed due to rotational reasons. In addition to this, an aircraft change was done due to technical reasons. It will always be a huge challenge for all airline operators as we operate in extremely variable conditions and operate within a safety envelope that ensures there is no risk at any time to customers and staff. I am disappointed to learn of the lack of communication. There are times when we are able to advise customers in advance but when delays are experienced close to the departure time, it is not always possible.
I am sorry that the staff seemed unconcerned. Obviously an area to improve on would be updating customers about their flight disruptions and this will be addressed. I will be contacting you via your personal email.
Yours Sincerely,
Nazley - CR
