******* stranding of Kulula Com Air passengers
A group of passengers have been unduly and *******ly stranded here at King Shaka Durban International Airport upon the sudden grounding of all flights announced on 12th March 2021. We were accommodated for two nights at a hotel with confirmation that the ban was temporary and we had been booked an alternate Comair flight returning to Cape Town for Monday 14th March . A prearranged shuttle brought us passengers to the airport this morning to find that all Kulula counters were shut down and we have been unable to contact anyone on the Kulula contact numbers provided on the signage posted on the counter windows. We have effectively been dumped by Kulula and have no indication of alternate emergency chartered planes being made available to us as was publicised as per their press release on their website . What has transpired is an engregious ******* misrepresentation on the airline’s part as we have full right to demand for further accommodation to made available to us . Alternate airline carrriers have tripled their airfares and flights to Cape Town are only available from Thursday 17th March . We have full consumer right to demand that alternate accommodation be made available and alternate flight arrangements made at the expense of Kulula Com Air . We all have livelihoods to return to and will not expend funds on our part on account gross customer negligence on account of the airline .
