flight delay once again!!!
my husband is a jockey who flies every friday to Port Elizabth for their race meeting. A few weeks ago the BA/ Kulula flgitht was delayed 4 hours so he missed his racing costing him over R6000.00 loss of earnings all we got was the ticket changed with no charges today is the same thing his flight is 7 hours delayed so he will once again miss his racing. I will work out his loss of earnings again and will make sure we are compensated this. I was on the phone to a BA agent now who told me its not her problem when I asked what will happen to his SAA ticket that he has to fly back from PE this evening so I need to pay the changes to SAA cause BA didnt take off on time I am sorr thats not acceptable. I want his ticket changed there and back with no cost to me as well as compensation for loss of earnings taking into consideration he is a BA executive member with thousands of points which just shows how much he spends a month on flying with BA/kulula .....
Thank you for your post. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. We try hard to keep to our published schedule as we understand the impact it has on our customers. Any delays to our schedule due to factors within our control are only imposed when absolutely necessary as it has a business impact on us as well.
I can certainly appreciate your frustration around the constant delays your husband has experienced. His flight this morning is delayed due to technical reasons. An aircraft change is being done to avoid a further delay or cancellation.
Our Executive Management team is fully aware of the flight delays and are currently putting plans in place to reduce the delays. They are in the process of replacing our current fleet with new Boeing 737-800 aircrafts. With the new aircrafts, our operations team will be able to plan better in cases of aircrafts experiencing technical problems. Further to this we have placed an order for the new generation MAX aircrafts which we will receive in 2020. Plans and steps are being taken to improve our on-time departures.
I will be in touch with you via email with your rebooking concerns.
Yours Sincerely,
Nazley CR
