Dissatisfied customer, Unattended Minor, *****ing my money

On 23 November 2016 I called the British Airways call centre where i needed to book a ticket for my son who has to fly from Durban to Cape Town and Visa versa. I called in and spoke to someone who never really understaood what I said. After some time the booking was made and a confirmation was sent to me go and pay for the ticket within 24 hrs.

I had to ask my manager for time off from work and made my way to Cape Town International airport to pay for and finalise the booking. When i got there they told me to wait as nothing had been confirmed but I had an email telling me what to do and that everything had been confirmed for the 5 December 2016. After some time I paid for the flight which costed me R2493.00. At that time there was major confusion as I needed to rebook and also needed to wait and relook dates at that time. I was really stressed out as they told me to go back and speak to the agents myself. I persuaded the ladies to assist me and then at the time I asked them to change the date to 1 December which was done. I got a flight confirmation to my mail which was illegible and in that i also forgot that the dates were changed.

This morning i went to the airpor to confirm but i was told that the flight was missed and also that my whole amount was forfeited as my son was a no show.

This is my gripe with this airline and your **** customer service which costed me a whole lot of unnecessary money that I didn't have in order to get my son to me which i only get to see every other year because of distance:

1) He's a minor who's only turning 11 years old on 7 December 2016

2) You took down all my details but never called me to remind me of my son's flight.

3) If its a return flight why do you forfeit the full amount and then the very same flight he was to return on on that day you book him on. The Flight details for 09 January 2017 on the forfeited flight is BA 6311 flying to Durban @ 9:15 ; On the New one i pay for the exact same flight BA 6311 flying to Durban @ 9:15.

4) The other thing is that you take this amount of money from me but don't have the decency or audacity to find out where this minor is. Anything could have happened then whose fault would it be.

5) My son is scheduled to fly at 14:40 this afternoon from King Shaka and still nobody has called me to confirm that he's flying and that he was booked in.

6) It's very easy to take people's money but when it comes to the extra mile you refer me to a call centre becuase they deal with unassisted minors.

I would like a call from management to explain to me what's up with this ********** 293 and work ********** 352. I also want a refund with regards to what I've paid to your airline. This morning I paid an amount of R2607.26 which include the very same flight my son would've returned to Durban.

I initially asked why i can get a refund or just pay for a single flight for him today to Cape Town and the answer was that I can't get anything as my son never turned up and that a new flight schedule was to be booked but he returns on the same flight as was booked previously.
