DISGRACEFUL SHOCKING LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE

My 82year old husband was booked on a BRITISH AIRWAYS flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg on Thursday 15th November leaving at 9.50am. We traveled from Langebaan leaving at 6am. After I checked him in and left the airport he went to the departure gate and waited!!!! They were then told it was delayed. They didn’t know for how long so he stayed in the queue and by this time people were sitting on the floor because they had waited so long.....my 82 year old husband also sat on the floor!!! At 10.20 they still did not know anything. At 10.55 they were told to collect their baggage from the carousel......STILL NO REASON FOR THE DELAY HAD BEEN COMMUNICATED TO THEM!!!! At 12pm I found out the plane had been hit by a bird and was grounded! They were told they’d take off at 7PM.....and hour later he was told he’d be taking off at 10PM.....that means this 82 year old man would have been arriving in Joburg at MIDNIGHT!!!! He had not been offered even a cup of coffee all this time.....and we’d left Langebaan at 6am!!!! Obviously he could NOT stay till 10am so I went back to the airport and brought him home. His daughter in law then booked him on a flight leaving (???????) at 12.20pm on Friday 16th. We duly traveled the 130kms BACK to the airport the next day for his 12.20PM flight.....it was consequently delayed by TWO HOURS and finally left at 2.30PM!!!! Once again it was BRITISH AIRWAYS!!!!! You can’t tell me that BRITISH AIRWAYS couldn’t find ONE seat for an 82year Old on any of their BRITISH AIRWAYS or KULULA flights to Joburg on the Thursday!!! As you know KULULA is also under BRITISH AIRWAYS!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS SHOCKING, AND DISGUSTING TREATING A VERY SENIOR CITIZEN IN SUCH A MANNER!!! I have NO words strong enough to describe their UNFEELING, and lacking in COMPASSION!!! NEVER AGAIN AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED. I have since spoken to a number of people and they have said......that’s what BRITISH AIRWAYS is like!!!! I gave them one star only because I was not able to write this review without highlighting a star......they deserve NOTHING BUT CONTEMPT from me!!
