My mum, my sister and myself booked our tickets to Spain on the 1st August 2017 through Discovery. No where were we advised that we needed to apply for a transit visa for when we arrived in Heathrow. When we arrived at OR Tambo on the 30th October and tried to check in the staff at the British Airways advised us that we cannot board and the staff at the counter refused to help us. When we called Kulula they said that they can't do anything as they don't have access to the international flights? And Discovery us closed. Now we caught between a rock and a hard place as British Airways and Kulula don't want to help in any way. They were very unreasonable and refused to even give us a flight that was flying to Dubai which didnt require a transit Visa. The gentleman at the British Airways counter desk was not helpful and he refused to get his manager to assist as he said that Kulula is responsible for the tickets and they need to sort it out but there was no one that could sort it out. So the manager at the British Airways counter cancelled the tickets. We wanted to fly from JHB to Spain and didn't ask to stop in England. But British Airways schedule is that way? Why weren't we given an option to pay a penalty to fly to another that didn't need a transit Visa? We had to then book with Emirates and spend additional money for airfares? How unfair is that?
I need this resolved and I will be taking this further for unfair practices and being unduly threated. Does Discovery being such a reputable company actually have a partnership with 2 *********** Airlines?
This was send on the 3rd November to Vitality via Messenger and to date no further update??
