Cash missing whilst jacket in BA custody

On Wednesday, 25 February 2015, I travelled Business Class on flight BA 6241 from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth. <br> <br> The flight attendant offered to take my jacket and hang it in a secure cupboard. My wallet was in the inside pocket and it contained my driving licence, cards and cash. Usually, it would be handed back to the passenger as we are preparing to land. In this case, it was overlooked and I forgot to ask for the jacket when I was departing.<br> <br> My identity was contained in the jacket and as a Gold tier frequent flyer, British Airways have my contact details. Nevertheless, they made no effort to contact me. It was after many phone calls and 22 hours later that I finally located the whereabouts of my jacket. Naturally, without a driving licence and credit card my short visit to Port Elizabeth was disrupted.<br> <br> My jacket and wallet were held at British Airways in Johannesburg. The cards were interfered with and the cash was ******.<br> <br> British Airways are refusing to accept responsibility for the theft. However, they have a duty of care and have broke trust and disrespected and good customer.<br> <br> Very disappointing!
