BA6301 Overbooked
I had a 06:30 flight with British Airways on 8 April 2015, stood in the queue after what felt like an eternity only to be told the flight was overbooked. How the hell does one overbook a flight??? It's not a **** taxi!!! I paid for a specific flight! If I wanted a later flight, I would have booked a later flight!! Your vouchers do not make up for the fact that I could not make it home when I should have!!

Obviously now you will try to explain that you overbook a certain percentage based on the number of no-shows previously, however I PAID FOR MY TICKET AND MADE PLANS AROUND IT! YOU SHOULD NOT GET TO TAKE MY SEAT AWAY AND GIVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE!! AND YOUR ****PY VOUCHERS DO NOT MAKE UP FOR IT!!

Why was I not notified??? Where is your professionalism British Airways??? You clearly don't give a **** about your customers!

I have never been so disgusted. I will never fly British Airways again!
Thank you for taking the time to contact us and for sharing your concerns .
I certainly can understand the frustration in this regard . There are various reasons why a customer could be denied a seat, the most common being aircraft changes where the original aircraft is no longer available mostly due to technical problems. This results in an aircraft change and in some cases the configuration of the new aircraft is smaller than the original resulting in customers being accommodated on alternative flights. On occasions, depending on the route, day and time we sometimes conservatively overbook our flights. The occasional overselling of flights is an established airline business practice, throughout the world. From time to time, this practice is also app**** to Comair flights. Where we overbook, we are prepared to provide compensation in terms of the relevant South African Consumer laws.
With regards to your query , unfortunately we cannot advise in advance of the overbooking and passengers will only find this out at the checkin counters on the day .
Bye for now .
